I've never heard V&H's on a Superhawk before, but I'm sure it will be a 100% improvement over the stock pipes. I like the look of the tips.

Pro's: V&H has been around for awhile so their R&D department should be well sorted and they look different.

Con's: Dunno.

Those are my favorite look for the hawk, but they stopped making them. If you find someone that actually has them, and you like them don't hesitate.

thegreep have right, they stop to make them, ( not the entire S4 line, but for the VTR1000F ) they are no more available!! At least, this is the answer I got from V&H at the beginning of last summer... that was these one I would like to have on my bike!! They was also my favorite, I like the end tips and the bracket, too nice!!

Thus instead I bought the Micron, oval black to yellow fade, I love them but the color tarnished a lot since last year!!!

If you find a pair of S4, buy them before I find it!!!

Seriously, I've find one pair still available, but in France ( at least they was available last summer ) maybe I've still the dealer coordinates if you are very very addicted to them!!

I have the S4 slipons on my 99VTR. Love the look. Love the sound.

They make a wonderful noise.

BUT do NOT expect any after sales service from V&H.

I had a minor highside last summer and one of the cans was rashed...not bad enough to replace, but the V&H S4-Supersport badge was trashed. The following is an abridged version of my dealings with V&H while trying to source the badges:

- Vance&Hines USA say parts are available but wont ship to Canada/wont
provide part numbers.
- Vance&Hines Canada (AKA Parts Canada) dont deal with the general public but provided a list of V&H Sales reps.
- Parts Canada didnt return several calls made by (two) local V&H reps
- Another rep actually had to convince Parts Canada that V&H marketed an S4 slipon setup for the VTR.
- The parts I need aren't listed in Parts Canada's V&H catalog
- These guys finally shipped me the wrong (SS2R) badges and repack kits
after 'much dicking around with V&H'

After five months of trying I gave up. I'm going to remove both badges, fill the rivet holes and have the cans repacked and polished.

One of the (US) dealers that I contacted said that they had several sets of V&H S4 slipons for the VTR in stock. I have never bought anything from them, but they were courteous and prompt in their response to my queries.

They have a website: Altitude Motorsports [helmet2helmet@hotmail.com]

Good luck and good hunting!

I have Vance and Hines SS4R carbon's on my hawk, put on by previous owner. I like how they look, and like how they sound except that they're way way loud. Very raunchy sounding and set off the car alarms in the garage at work.

I wear earplugs so the noise isn't a problem for me, and they definately help me to be known while on the freeway, not once have I felt that a driver was unaware of me.

I can echo the other's complaints about V&H's customer service. I've emailed them several times for information and they've never responded, pretty much deny that they ever made these pipes. I suspect the carbon won't last. If I were looking I'd personally I'd go with something titanium...
