Vacationing with the VTR
Spent the last week riding around Banff, Jasper and Yoho National Parks in Alberta and British Columbia, Canada, on my VTR.
Still going strong after 12 seasons and 58,000 miles. Here's a short video clip.

What was the gas situation like up through the Jasper area?
My dad and I where looking at heading that way as a possible trip idea but it looked like gas stations may be pretty sparse at times.

You will have no problems with gas through the Jasper area. Between Banff and Jasper there is a junction called Saskatchewan crossing that sells gas. Its generally quite expensive and I wouldn't want to fill a car there but for the 3 gallons in a motorcycle its worth paying. Hinton on the east side has gas, Jasper has gas, Valemount west of Jasper has gas. No fuel problems.

How cold was it? Looks like you were dang close to the snow line there my friend. Mind giving us an idea of what you packed? I hope I'm hiding it quite well because in reality I am green with envy.

Time to bust loose again at the end of this month. Gonna be taking another bike, not sure which one just yet.

The next gas is at Jasper 90 miles away. As we know, if we ride our VTR's at a brisk pace, the low fuel light will be on at about the 90 mile mark.

We both had small back packs that carried our essentials. A luggage carrier of some kind would have been better.
I'm gonna research what's available for a carrier that attaches behind the seat.
