Trackday deal in NJ

I read this on another forum and thought I might pass on the info. I was at one of absolute performance's track days (not riding... helping a friend) and they seemd like a top notch organization. I already have a bunch of trackdays scheduled for this year, but I'm thinking of adding one more... $150 with the school is a GREAT price. I went to their site and it did not mention the $25 refund if the trackday fills, but the intermediate school was free ($250 value).

The free suit rental/intro class seem like a GREAT deal for someone that has always wanted to try the track, but didn't have all the gear.

This is the ad:

I feel your pain...

I've been waiting for 5yrs for them to build these tracks. I didn't think they would ever get it done with all the tree huggers in NJ. It used to be a 5hr drive to Summit Point to find a decent track, now I got 2 AWESOME tracks 45 min from home!!!

Wow, that is a great deal. I'm going to try and find someone that will make the 3.5 hour trip w/me. I've never done a track day, what are some things I should bring along if I do go?

The track's web site is "http://www.njmotorsportspark.com/".
"http://www.shopabsolutecp.com/" has some info as well.

As for things to bring, you want to be comfortable at the track. I have a canopy to keep out of the sun, camping chair to sit in, and a cooler full of water/gatoraid. You may not think that 20 min sessions are that long, but I am ready to come in when the session is over!!!

Bring tape to cover glass and remove the mirrors. Better yet, prep the bike the night before to reduce stress at the track. I have spare levers, some spare bolts, a spare helemt, and some tools. Just in case something happens, I would hate for my day to be ruied due to a minor crash and not having the simple things. Mind you, I am not a mechanic and can not fix something major, but I have replaced a broken lever and gone back out for the rest of the day.

I got a response from absolute cycle from a "is this deal to good to be true" E-mail that I sent. I'm not sure that they are including leather rentals in the price, but they do rent them. I have a set so it does not matter to me. If it is important to you give them a call. Since I have done a few trackdays before, I am taking the intermediate school and riding in group 2.

Here is the response I got from an E-mail I sent to them:

"This is for real. $150 until july first. If we well out 120 spots before july first we will credit your form of payment $25 bringing the day to $125. This piece also included a free intro and or free I camp school. Tech is easy. Tape or remove glass and mirrors (we will do this for you as well) 80 percent tread on tires and brakes. No loose bodywork or parts and motorcycle needs to be in overall good mechanical order. We ha e gear for rent first come first serve. Boots over the ankle and gloves over the wrist and a full face helmet. Any other questions feel free to reply. At this unbelievable rate this day is sure to fill. If everyone passes the word we will issue the credit instantly. Thank you for your interest.

Bring extra gas!!! You think these bikes get bad fuel milage on the road, wait until you get one on the track. About 60 miles through my track day and I need fuel again.

I was just thkinking of this on the way into work this morning....

They have gas at the track, but it is not cheap. I make sure I have a full tank and bring a 5 gallon can. This usually leaves me with a gallon or two extra at the end of the day.
