Tires - D207RR to Diablo
Tires - D207RR to Diablo
Hi all
Well my 207RR's have finally had enough ( sniff )...
has anyone gone from 207RR's to Diablo's?
They get really good write ups with good wet weather grip etc....
as my rear has died quicker than my front but not by much I was thinking...
normal Diablo rear with Diablo corsa front?
I'm probably not fast enough to warrant a corsa front ( nor 207RR's
either I expect ) but the psychological benefits I can'
also what sort of percentage mark up on tyres at a dedicated tire retailer? 10% 20%?
front and rear come to NZD549 retail so was going to try and haggle to 500 as this
really is my upper limit.....thoughts?
Cheers for any and all advice

Re: Tires - D207RR to Diablo
I switched to Pirelli Diablo (not Corsa), and I am very impressed with both their performance and their life-span.
I get twice the mileage out of the Diablos as I did with D-208s, and they are, IMHO, better from a performance standpoint as well.
BTW, if you don't mind waiting for shipping, Marietta Motorsports (MarMo) always has incredibly low prices on sport bike tires. They sold me a Pirelli Diablo rear tire for $120 and a Pirelli Diablo front tire for somehwere around $90.

cheers,

Re: Tires - D207RR to Diablo
This isn't going to help but what the hell.
I've had 207 and 208's in the past and have recently started running supercorsas (RTO's) but have not mounted them back to back. The Supercorsa's are just frickin' amazing grip wise and the wear rate is like any top of the line sport tire (i.e. 2-3k miles on the rear, fronts 2-3 times longer). The side walls (see pic) are slicks so I wouldn't recommend them to those who ride in the wet often. The front dunlops cupped making them usless to me well before they were worn out treadwise. I just got in a diablo rear but won't be mounting it for a few weeks.
