Thank you

I am a new SH owner. I have admired the machine for a while. I found an opportunity to purchase a 2000 model with a bad motor, also came with a crate engine with 5000 miles. With all the reading on this forum from most of the great members ( brother SH owners ) myself and my oldest daughter have got the bike up and running.... so thanks again to all the great posts.

cct failure, took the head off and one of the intake valves broke at the stem and was shoved back into the head.
no hole in the piston but since i have a running scooter. I am going to rebuild the engine like new...

Nice truck.

I give you credit man. Never owning a Superhawk, you put one together and made it run. I kind of did the same thing, although mine was literally a pile of parts.

Your Superhawk looks great all together!

P.S. A crate engine is a new engine.

nah 1000cc to big for a 17 year old. but i did say she could get a scooter after she gets her license and she will take the motorcycle safety classes with me.. then maybe she will borrow my beautiful yellow monster. plus she might weigh 100lb soaking wet lol. she has been a great help. its really nice to share the rebuild experience with my daughter..

Hope you caught the manual cam chain tensioner and regulater/rectifier upgrade threads. And for my greatest contribution to the Superhawk brotherhood search for "pillow mod"

Welcome along here.

Good to see another brother.

Be careful, this site is full of wonderful things to do to your bike.

You must be happy to get the bike going and what a bonus to be able to share this with your daughter.

yes did the manual cct, the r/r with a cbr1000rr, carb sync and tps sensor. trying to trim down an extra seat for a gel/memory foam seat. That seems to be the hardest thing yet! I do appreciate all the write ups the other riders have posted and recommended upgrades.

Great stuff - My Son & daughters still a wee bit young, though my almost 17 yr old son, has been asking to ride the Hawk, maybe this Summer with LOTS O supervision.

I was going to do a Ortho foam conversion, bought the stuff, but never did it

But I did have a guy many years back do the gel insert - still decent 10 yrs on

Good Luck

Where ya from?
