Superhawk progress...

Well, the hawk is paid for, and has been for some time. I want to do some track days (starting with Cornerspeed at summit in june! Can't wait,)

So, i'm making this thing as track ready as I can.

I did the staintune exhaust and jetting, new filter, and fluids as soon as I bought it. Since then, i've kept up on the fluids.

Front suspension rebuilt with racetech bits inside. Rear shock spacer installed. Still haven't replaced the spring, but I'm going to eventually.

Put a Pilot power 2CT on front, and about to put one on the rear.

And today, spiegler SS front brake lines, and EBC Extreme pads.

Next on the list is a set of Sharkskinz so i don't mess up my street fairings.

Loving this bike all over again. I never did these mods to my old hawk, and i'm glad I am now.

Dont kno if your staintunes are highmount or not, but I ran into a problem with my high mounts on the track. The spacers they give u for the passenger peg brackets puts that bracket right in the way of ur foot and I would drag toe b4 knee on left turns. I had to make some custom brackets to keep the pipes.

I'll have a brand new rear.. the front is new-ish. Less than 1000 miles.

I have the same problem with my Highmounts. With my toes on the pegs my heel either hits the Rear Peg/Extension brackets, or my heel rides on the exhaust pipe melting my boot soles

I'm thinking of either switching to another exhaust for a track dedicated VTR or redesign the bracket system so my foot doesn't get stuck

I've added a starlane gear position indicator and Gilles rearsets since I started my trackdays and both were great mods. Already had a Penske rear shock which was definetly the best mod to date. None of these mods are nessecary, but they really help out if you got the cash. Most important thing is safety though. Good helmet and protective gear and go over your bike to make sure everythings tight. Check your brake pads make sure there not to thin, check all your suspension make sure nothings leaking, check your fluids, torque all critical nuts and bolts, etc...

Good ideas. I've gone over the suspension and brakes. Can't afford a penske or other aftermarket rear just yet. Gonna start by respringing the stock shock :-)
