I love my bike. I just did a track day with the local Ducati dealership. There were four 1098S's there. One guy in my group who was an ex-racer was touching down in every corner. I could stay with him in the corners but he would gain a little in the staights. We were on a short 1.4 mile course and he wasn't having $25,000 more fun than me. One guy grabbed too much front brake at the end of a 100mph straight and he was not enjoying the quotes in the pits for right side and clutch damage repairs to the 1098S. I'll stick with the Hawk until I can justify Hypermotard or a BMWR1200R. Right now, with the smiles after a session on the hawk, I can't see that happening soon.

How long I keep it will depend on how easy it is to modify...I never leave bikes as is..that's good and bad... Don't get crazy on me..I love the current handling..but sick and ancient mind is imagining how sweet this twin would work in a Jesse Rooke style chop...take a deep breath...that's what I'm thinking now...Other wise I'm to far from good roads (crooked) to ride it as is forever...
Has anybody ever seen something like that done with a Hawk...I'm thinking of working with stock frame, wheels, brakes...mostly cosmetic.. bars.. seat.. lowered a bit.. sure would mess with some cruisers..Sound is right.. power would be sweet..

See here. Matt black undercoat ready for custom paint. My Honda shop did some of the mechanical work. SH items from a comprehensive crash.

I admit I do very little night riding now too. My next stand in front of the candles will be my 57th time. One of the guys that went to bike week this spring met a guy who was riding a Superhawk and I think he was 73.
There's hope!
I have a VFR as well, but I use them very differently.
I think if you keep your mind clear and your body fit you can ride a Superhawk into your later years like some guys who look like they married the refrigerator riding a Wing.
