which style should i go with with?

i am unsure of what to do and am thinking about changing it up a tad with my exhaust. i found another set of FBF forzas for cheap assuming i can get them in 3 days but they have lowmount mid pipes on them and mine have high mount mid pipes. if i got with a single i can still use my good can and fix and sell my messed up can to a friend. i can also buy the 2 newer ones that are in pretty good shape for cheap if they are still available in 3 days. im leaning with right shot gun or single undertail depending if i can figure out howmuch the rear tire wheel will come up at fully compressed

Make it special and go with the Undertail Double. I don't like the idea of one pipe on the SH.... You asked.....

Go with a double undertail like i did. I fabbed up a subframe and put a 05 r1 tail on my bike. The transition into corners feels alot better with the weight of the pipes in the center.

My .02! I think the exhaust any closer to the back tire than it is in the stock position creates a potential problem. Further complications could be created by heating the rear shock via an undertail installation as well.

My basic orientation with the bike is that it was brilliantly conceived but cheaped out in manufacturing. Add all the right parts and you have a great bike that will gooble up Duc's by the plate.

I had to laugh. I was in a new pipe warehouse today and there was a nice looking gixxer in the PL. Definitely aftermarket plastic with a very basic paint job.

As I'm filling out all the bullshit forms I asked the guys at the counter if they rode the bike.

Their response, "No, that would be the new stupid guy out back."

Good thing the kid still goes to work.

I've got alot of requests via pm"s to send pictures of my r1 tail conversion with undertail exhaust, so i'll just post the pics on this thread so i don't have to send a whole bunch of pm's. Now keep in mind that these are early pictures as it is a little different now with different style mid pipes, and i cut my d&d pipes shorter (sorry don't have more recent pictures, or pictures of the bare subframe that i fabbed up, but i'll get some up if you guys want). It's also a rough maak up that came out alot better than i hoped. I still haven't got a rear seat on it because i still don't know if i want to put one on, or just put a cowl on it. It's the tail and the undertail section from an 05 r1. If there are any ?'s, feel free to ask. Hope you guys like it.

P.S. sorry blackhawk not trying to thread jack.

I love the position of the cans but don't really like the look of the mids. There's not much you can do with them though.

yeah i didn't like the way those were either, so they are different now, but they are still a little long still. I'm still thinking of a way to make it where the you can't see the mids.

A single sided swingarm would help

My $0.02, I love the look of the double undertail. Always have. HOWEVER, from a pure physics standpoint, the further away from the CG you add weight, the less stable the bike is going to be. It's the same reason that you're seeing MotoGP style exhausts on new sportbikes. That being said, our superhawk has clearance issues with low mount cans if you're a super aggressive rider, or so I've heard.

Looks pretty cool, but I do like the doubles a little better though just because they are unique looking.

How's it sound and how's the power?

I just had a cool idea (well cool to me) while looking at your exhaust. Take another one of the cans you have and cut it down about 3 inches and have it underneath the one you have there. That way it would look offest at the tail pipes but flush where the mids come in. Ya dig?

Where's your blinkers.

hmm im trying to imagine what your talking about. i think it would be to low. as for performance seems exactly the same except when at idle. likes to die a little more. the sound is more like american muscle carish then barking dogs haha. almost the same but coming out of one can doesnt allow for that sweet flow and sound... and my blinkers are in the tail light.

Your right, I think you would need to make it a high mount to make it work.

How was it jetting it for the single pipe? Another question...how did you hook the rest of the exhaust to that single pipe?
