Single sided exhaust critique

Anyone who is planning to run a single pipe on the left side make sure you run a full system designed for it or you'll take a big hit on hp. I was running a micron race can on the left.

Last week at the drag strip I was racing an old FZR600. I got a bad launch so we were dead even off the start. I thought I'd motor right by him but I only pulled two bike lengths at the end. When I uncapped the right side I obliterated him. It may not be too eveident on the street but it makes a huge difference at the strip. I'll bet it added atleast 1/2 second to my quarter mile.

If you do plan to run one can I suggest 2 1/4 - 2 1/2" pipe or larger with no bottlenecks less than 2 1/4".
