Sidecover paint?

I'm trying to find some touch up paint for the sidecovers and sprocket cover on my 2001 VTR. Color-rite is a great source for paint for the fairing and tank but I haven't found any source for OEM sidecover paint. Any suggestions?

If your side engine casings are the same colour as the ones below, we've found here in the UK that Ford graphite grey metallic is a pretty close match. I've used it for touching up marks on the clutch cover before, and my wheels.

I appreciate your suggestion but my 2001 Canadian model doesn't have grey sidecovers. My colour vocabulary is limited but I'd describe it as a sandy taupe with subtones of copper and green. I'm sure I'd be beaten up if I asked a manly man in an auto parts store for something in that colour. I might prowl the aisles discreetly with my sprocket cover in hand at the local hardware store or go to a hobby shop and see if they've got something similar for model cars or airplanes.

I haven't seen paint specifically for them. I custom mixed from a bunch of **** in the garage and kept applying a small amount of this and that to a broken piece of old sidecover until it matched perfect. A little tedious but it worked. I also was a graphic designer and took stuff like color theory back in college so it wasn't so hard. This is easier if you're just doing touch ups. If you're painting the whole thing I think as long as you get it close and do a clean job they should look fine.

And by the way I think I started with a metallic silver/grey bumper paint from my '90 Ford Taurus and slowly added a little black to darken it up and it worked perfect.
