I was entertaining the thought of selling my SuperHawk as I'm 68 y/o and well that's enough. While it's in good running fettle, it's got some "ahem" patina. I was thinking it might be worth $2500 or so. But...found that shipping costs would add $800!!!...OMG! I guess I'll wait.

I'm also 68 and I'm the one with a heavy patina, my primary VTR with 111000+ miles looks great
I'm recovering from years of physical disability due to injuries from a bicycle incident. Many procedures then finally 3 surgeries with 2 more to go has limited my riding but I'm pushing my physical and vocational therapy to the maximum!
I hope to be back in the saddle within a couple months and get a few months of riding before my next surgery. Then start over again.
The point is I'll stop riding when they uncurl my cold lifelless fingers from the hand grips!!!
So for $2500 it's not worth giving up one of the best Hondas ever built even if you only get in a couple thousand miles a year. If riding it doesn't bring a smile to your face every ride, you're not whipping it hard enough! Get with the program!
I may not be "whipping it hard enough" nowadays. In April I was recognized by a Kerr County Deputy for going only 21 over in an 80 mph, and in May my lap times at BHF's were almost 2 seconds off.
Have to thin the herd. I have sold some of my weapons too. When you have to downsize...when your spouse is on O2 24/7, and you have to take care of her. Your stuff loses value.
In fact going to change the earl, install Fumoto drain valve for easy future changes, clean the K&N air filter then wash & wax my baby.
And wait for delivery of new tank bag
(my 5 yr old Cortech zipper **** the bed + the map pocket always sucked)
Hmm, similar profile, one of the best function and form profiles to come out of Nippon!
I also can mount a Shad SH46 top case on a Ventura Bag system rack I modified for the Shad quick mount plate; which can extend off the back like yours or go 180 over the pillion. I have several tank bags including the excellent SW-Mototech fuel filler QD ring type. Semi-rigid panniers too. With the Ventura rack mounted bags back to back, the paniers and a tank bag, I have 126 liters to almost tour with the kitchen sink. Got to love NEPs throttle lock but I've been spoiled by the McCruise electronic cruise control I installed (as painful cost + time) on my 15 FJ-09; the latter my first FI, ABS & TC steed. Also the fastest RED! I have modernized somewhat my VTR into a sport tourer with all LED lighting including driving lights, auxiliary side marker & brake lights, a radar detector, hard wired power heads-up display for a Zumo XT & my Galaxy S21 and heated grips thanks to my own Mosfet VRR and old fashioned fuse & relay integrated wiring harness including direct battery power to the LED headlight & modulator. A Scot Oiler, custom saddle & +2.75" clip-ons, MFW Vario lowered foot pegs, power plugs for heated gear (and a tire pump), and the usual suspension and brake upgrades almost bring it into the new Millennium. But without the luggage it feels like a soaring and swooping red tailed Chicken Hawk.
When I'm floating through the hills and dales on a beautiful day, smelling the flowers and fresh cut hay (and manure), my VTR just seems like it's loafing along smooth and one with the road like a classic cafe sport tourer. They just can't make a bike anymore that comes close to the character of a carbureted 90 degree V-twin like ours. Some may call it ho-hum or slightly boring. That is until they look down and see they're flying low at 85 mph with hammerlike dependability. Mine's 111,000 miles have (knock on plastic) have been relatively trouble free, and easy to maintain.

I hear you! Me, my wife and kids health issues almost sound trivial in comparison. Relying on O2 is one of the worst things to deal with. Not being able to breath is my greatest fear. We often say it always could be worse. I have many health issues but my saintly wife of 42 years says none of them will likely kill me, just make me Misérables, and by transference, her too. So every minute I'm conscious I try to look at life like a cup half full but it's very hard sometimes.
Our prayers and best wishes are with you, your wife and family!

Thanks to you. We're trying to fulfill some of her bucket list stuff. A cruise to Hawaii in October, and a cruise through the Panama Canal in 2023. Selling m'cycles, guns, etc to make it happen.
@Skokie - best mod I've ever down was suspension. Rode this weekend for a little bit - about 100 miles and was fantastic. So true there is nothing like this V-Twin
