Red Bull US Grand Prix

A few pics from the MotoGP event. Did an epic ride Friday from the South Bay, up through the redwoods and into San Francisco, then back down to the track. Spent most of Sat and Sunday at the stunter's pit area as guests/supporters of Kane Friesen.

The highlight, or lowlight depending on how you look at it, was surviving getting clipped by a car while lane splitting in SF. Somehow managed to save it despite getting tagged on the left foot/shifter. Did a couple of tank slappers in the midst of rush hour traffic and made a miraculous recovery. Broke the end of the shifter off and popped the slider pad out of my left Alpinestar but otherwise unscathed and never went down. Luck and skill played equal parts in that one, and my gear did it's job. Plus the awesome stability of the SuperHawk didn't hurt. I've had many bikes over the years but this little sweetheart is still one of my faves. A little drilling and a 1/4 bolt with 2 nuts and it's good as new.
