Recently joined, recently crashed

I recently joined the Superhawk nation and unfortunely I recently crashed. The crash wasnt that bad but the hawk took the worst of it. I have a 99 black hawk and I cant wait until I can get her back on the road. I found a gas tank on ebay and I am looking to find some plastic (RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE FAIRINGS). I am really impressed with the SH forum and I am looking foward to chatting and sharing my riding stories with everyone.

don't feel too bad. I crashed mine 3 days after I bought it. word of advise, make ebay your best friend. also, sharkskinz street legal fairings are cheaper and stronger than the stock plastic.just gotta paint it yourself.

I dont even have the title yet. The worst thing about crashing (other than actually crashing); everyone questions your riding ability afterwards. I have a 1979 cb650, and my friends say things like; maybe you should stick to the old school.

yep, no one wanted to believe me after my crash when I said speed was not a factor. They look at me they look at the bike and their minds are made up. All of the sudden everyone is an expert on why I crashed.

I was the most experienced rider in the group the day I crashed. so nobody said anything that would have gotten them "chastized". also when I went down, I tumbled then landed on my feet. the kids that drove by and called the ambulance were shouting to me how awsome that was and how they couldn't believe I just did that. I didn't think it was that awsome. but regardless, I didn't get any criticism. I already knew everything anyway. why I crashed, what I did wrong, and my foot kicks my *** harder than anybody else's. so I didn't need a lecture.

Welcome to the forum. Sorry about your crash...both side fairings? Ouch! Hope you get it back together soon. And yeah, as long as you're okay, that's what matters most.

Thanks for the welcome and the concern. I have gotten the SH put back together and now it looks like the frankeinstein monster. Its a guy on ebay that has the sides I need but, ouch is right, hopefully someone will make me a deal.

there are threads on here about having them repaired... that's one other option.

This is where I got mine. Good service and cheap. $317 is hard to beat.

As you put it back together, do yourself a favor and buy some frame sliders, it will be a purchase worth every dollar.
