RC-51 Deal too good to be true?
I found a local RC-51 for sale and the guy says he wants someone to take over payments of $177/mo. It's an 07 and he says his payoff is $3900 and would also be willing to sale for payoff.
The price is way too good for an 07, but also curious how the "take over payments" deal works. Im meeting tomorrow to check it out and check the bike over. Anyone ever taken over someone elses payments before and how does that work?
Anyone done this before? Im guessing I would need to contact his lender to verify legitimacy and that they would extend the credit to me as well until I payed it off which I would probably opt for. -sounds shady to me-

that seems awfully good price, even end of season and bad economy. So you'll want to check it over really well for signs of crash/salvage or track bike.
I agree with your suspicions and really can't imagine a good reason to ever take over payments for someone - better to just pay off and get your own financing separately IMO.

Be suspicious and careful. I didn't see anything in ad about mileage or condition, just that he went to Deal's Gap in Sept? Who gives a **** about that?
And 177/mo paid for say 30 months on a $12k purchase doesn't sound like a $3900 pay off unless the guy started with about an $8k trade in or down payment.

A 2007 RC51...? Sounds fishy already, since the RC51 died in 2006. Run the V.I.N. # at www.nicb.org . It will let you know if it's ever been reported stolen or as a total loss (salvage). All in all, it sounds like a scam.
