Q = What was your first street bike?
when I was 13 I inherited a 72 ts 175 suzuki dualsport. learned on that, and then got a 87 kx80. rode it till I was 17. then at 20, I got my first road bike; a 82' GS 450L. top speed:87mph. rode that for 2 years before donating it to my fraternity. it helped get 2 more riders into the sport before I lost touch with them. the replacement for me was a 92' yamaha seca II. great bike. had that for 4 years, then the hawk.
I bought my Grandfathers 1981 CB400t when I turned 16. Had it for a few years, probably put a few thousand on it since I didn't have a car. Fun bike, I think I sold it for $400, and it was pretty mint.
1982 650 SECA Turbo from 16 to 19 and I put about 40,000km on it as I didn't have a car in the summers. Sold it when I decided to get married. Wife bought me an FZ600 when she got pregnant a few years later. I thought I was getting too old to ride and better get a bike before it was too late, old guys couldn't ride like us kids. Wow were we stupid.
Puch Moped 2 speed automatic... hey, it was street legal for a 12 year old without a license @ the time! Had it for 5 years and unknown how many miles, but my guess is 10,000 miles of pavement and 20,000 miles of "off road" dirt trails. It wasn't made for off roading, but it worked, and could do jumps reasonably well!
Otherwise Suzuki GS500E. Had that for 4 years and 40,000 miles.
Then got the SH

1978 Kawasaki KL 250. My dad had bought it to chase me around on my KX 80 as a teenager. After it sat in the garage for about 4 years, I started riding it to work when I was 15. Mileage was stuck for years at 3456.5 for the 3 years I rode it everyday, everywhere. The first day I parked it in the yard with a for sale sign on her, the first truck that came by stopped. He bought her without even starting her. I started her one last time to ride her up the ramp into the bed of the truck and the odometer started to roll. I put a lot miles on her.
First bike was a 1970 Honda CB100
Seen more dirt than road I was only in the seventh grade when I got it for christmas
First real road bike was a 1990 Honda Hawk GT
Owned it about a year
Put on about 3500 miles

77 CB400F - Rode it everywhere. Including twice from NY to Va Beach, another time to Durham NC. Back and forth to college in westen NY all the time.
I was likely the only person ever to have a NYS Motorcylce Drivers license Without having a Car license. My parents insurance company tried to up their rates because I was a driver in the household without my own car. I went to see the agent and showed him I had a bike, but they said it did not count as I was licensed to drive a car. So I went to see DMV. At that time car was class 5 and MC was class 7. They had a form to amend or remove classes so a truck driver might have a particular commercial class removed. I submitted the form to remove the class 5 endorsement. I had to argue the point, but they finally accepted it.
For two years I only had a Class7 endorsement. I ended up having to take my car road test again when I finally got the class 5 back

Learned to ride a dirtbike at 14. When I was about 20 my car got totaled and I was relegated to my brother's R60/6 for about 3 months until I could afford a new car. Bought my own first bike in 93. It was an 82 Yamaha Maxim 650 with a Vetter fairing and a luggage rack. Dent in tank. Rust in tank. Man was that thing UGLY! Learned how to wrench and ride well on it though. Put about 5000 miles on it and bought a new 94 CBR1000F. The rest is history.
The first street legal bike I owned was a '73 Yamaha CT3 (aka DT175) which I bought new for $750. I put about 5000 miles on it in 5 months.
First street bike street bike was a '73 Yamaha TX500. Bought with 2000 miles on it for $1100. Kept that for 4-5 years and put something near 30k miles on it.

My first was an early sixties Cushman scooter. I think it had 5 horsepower. It looked like a real motorcycle but had the kick start on the front of the engine but under the tank. It didn't start on the first kick. No wonder I have knee problems. I rode that bike illegally as a 14yo for two years to the municipal airport where I traded my time for flying lessons. That little scooter and that little airplane changed and shaped my life.
1980 Honda CB650C. Had it in college for about a year and don't remember mileage. Everyone made fun on me 'cause it hadn't run in 10 years and I didn't know how to ride, but they all ate **** when I figured it out and fixed it up and started riding it everywhere. Good times...
'68 Norton P-11. In hindsight I now see why the British motorcycle industry went **** up. Every ride, no matter how short, was an adventure in wrenching. Followed by a new '72 CB750K2 Honda-what a revelation from a reliability standpoint!
98 Super Hawk
Still own it and ride it 3 to 4 times a week
Have put about 6k on it so far

My first street bike was a used(10K miles) 1983 Honda CX650 Custom in the summer of 85'. Put 15K on it and sold it in the fall of 86' for $300 more than what I paid for it. Used the cash to buy a slightly used(3K miles) 1986 Kawasaki ZX600R Ninja for $2900. Put 62K on that and sold it for $2300 6 years later.
2000 Victory V92C. Was a real nice cruiser. But, I tired of big and slow quite quickly and figured out cruisers are not for me. I think I put about about 3,000 miles on it and traded it in on a brand new super hawk (05) in 2007.
If I ever went back to cruiser world, it would be on another Victory.
