Post crash rebuild of my 99

So I crashed my 99 into a rock wall July 24th here in California on Redwood Rd. This is my thread to show the process of my crash, injurys and rebuild of my 1999 Superhawk. Feel free to comment, but play nice kids.

EDIT: I am rebuilding the 99 for the track. I will have extra parts, but Ill post them up as they come avail. Or just ask, and Ill reply.

My 12 screws, and two plates. Thats a 4 inch steel rod holding the bones in place. That came out, the screws and plates are permanent.

Well what happened to cause the crash after you've had time to ruminate on it for a while? Anything different upon reflection? What kind of gear do you plan to wear? How are you able to work on the bike with no busted up hands? Gotta hurt to be tooling on it.

+1 on the question- What equipment you going to wear....
A group gathered to ride the Dragon/ hwy 129 this past weekend. And we had two monkeys , show up in shorts, t-shirt, and sneakers. suprised they brought a helmet..

Basically I was in a constant left sweeper, it closed up and camber flattened throwing me and the bike to the dirt. I might have lowsided if I tried to push harder so I chose to stop. I slowed enough to prevent serious injury and when the front wheel hit it snapped the handle bar back hitting my right hand and shattering the ring and little finger metacarpals. It was MY fault, and now I am a little gun shy in corners I cant see. Thats why I want to rebuild the 99 for the track. Safe(er) enviroment to haul *** around and hone my skills
I am out of the cast, and dont have full motion in my right hand yet but I can hold some tools. I cant wrench hard with that hand but I have the left for that.
I bought a full AStar suit, new helmet, and new AStar gloves. Boots are next but I wear my military steel toe for now.

I know, I was off for 8 weeks and couldnt play for the first 6. All I could do was surf the web left handed. I couldnt even surf and fap!

Glad to hear you're on the mend.

The pics of the CF rims make you want to cry. T pics of the pins through the bones make you shudder... especially if you've ever broken bones.
