Pneumatic valve RC212V engine

honda has made a prototype pneumatic valve engine. it uses compressed air instead of springs....no more valve float apparently!

If you follow motogp closely, this is pretty old news but thanks for posting it to the forum. Nicky tested the motor in the off season and has been public stating his desire to ride it since the beginning of the season much to HRC's chagrin.

He got his way and rode it last week at Donnington. Lets see how it works for him at Laguna!

I'd be interested to see if MR fluid makes its way into the valvetrain in the coming years for any engine, not just racing. That stuff is wicked!

Heh, air valves are '80s technology!

It was like a punch in the gut seeing Nicky coasting across the line, though. Damn tank regs are gay.

and 2002 tech in MotoGP as Aprilia had it in their RSCube way back then (along with fly-by-wire throttle control).
