PLEASE let me test ride your Hawk!

For anyone living in the Chicagoland area, I live in Joliet during the week as I work here. On the weekends I'm either in Kalamazoo MI, or Dayton OH. This weekend (June 3-4) I will be in Kalamazoo. I will be in Kansas City MO June 6-14. If any you of who live in any of these areas would be interested, I am willing to PAY for a test ride on your Hawk. If you need some background on me, I'm 48 years old, I've been riding motorcycles since 1971, and my last bike was a Yamaha V-Max. I am a very experienced rider and I'm not looking to pull any funny business on anyone. I NEED to find out if the Hawk is actually for me, or if I'm just wasting my time looking for one. The ONLY way I can do this is by test riding one. Thanks.

I have never purchased a bike without test riding one first. Never will. It's just too much money to spend on something you don't even know you'll like.

I bought my '02 with 56 miles on it in Feb '05 with snow on the ground - no test ride in that kind of weather... Although I did ride my '96 Suzuki Dual Sport in Feb of another year in 28 degree weather (but no snow!) - that was a private sale, the SH was from a dealer with remainder of warranty.

Lots of dealers around here don't allow test rides but some do. The honda website used to list dealers that did have test rides.

I don't think my test ride is gonna come from a dealership. None of the dealers I've checked with in the areas listed in post #1 have had a SH. I think my best opportunity is going to come from a private owner. BTW, happy birthday! Mine's today.

I can't believe there's no one in any of the areas I listed with a SH who's willing to let me test ride their bike. THIS IS DEPRESSING!

I used to live in Plainfield, right next to Joliet, but that was a couple years ago. If you're ever in the Mpls, St. Paul metro area let me know.

If you want to drive up about 45 miles north of Milwaukee I might consider it. I've got a stock '98 that's new to me. I put 500 miles on it over Memorial Day weekend and I love it. So if you hurt it you hurt me.

Seroj lives in the KC area and said he might have some time this weekend to let me check out his Hawk. If that doesn't pan out, I'll be in Oshkosh for a week near the end of this month. I could probably be in your neighborhood during that time. I'll keep you posted. Thanks.

Chilly996

I never heard from seroj so I'm guessing he didn't have time to meet up this weekend. I will be in Oshkosh from June 29th thru July 5th. Is there a phone number where I can reach you to plan a good date and time to meet?

The weekend

Grampi - sorry for not getting back to you. I'm building a house right now and spent all weekend hanging doors and trim. Hope you can find one to test in your neck of the woods.

The problem is finding one within a reasonable distance from me.

That's alright, I totally understand. It looks like I may be able to hook up with Chilly996 while I'm in Wisconsin later this month. I'm keepin' my fingers crossed.
