Always wierd seeing the other brand version of your bike. Like bizarro superman or mega godzilla (or something).
Its really the SV before there was one. Kinda interesting that Hyosung kinda stole the whole look of this bike for their bike.
I was always suspect of the rotary damped rear and funky shock setup. Still a milestone bike and very rare.

This one no longer has the rotary damper.
It now has a modified R1 shock and lots of other small mods.

I too think that it looks a bit funny, and it weighs a lot more than my Storm so it is on a diet.
I will post a picture of it when it is finished. The poor old girl has been down the road a few times.
Check out how bent the radiator was.

I'm surprised the TL weighs more. I figured they would be about the same...
Nice shiny radiator. What's the difference between that one and the OEM?
I'm not as much of a newer SV fan, as I can't stand the "landing strip" tail light. Good bikes otherwise though.

It's a Chinese copy.
Have a look at the side below the filler on the Chinese one. It has a bung where there should be a fitting to accept the fairing screw.
No biggy, I will drill and tap the bung to accept the screw. Otherwise the same at a fraction of the cost of OEM!
So far this has been an interesting exercise and it has stood to highlight how well built the Storm is.
Maintenance is a snack on the Storm compared to the TL.

After doing the clear clutch cover for the TL it's definitely a mod that I will do on the Storm.
Doesn't achieve anything other than add some looks but I like it.
First to source a R/H side cover to fit to the bike while I mod the original one.
I intend to mod my original cover as I have spent countless hours polishing it.
Here is the TL cover.

James, did some research and the TLS is supposedly lighter at 187KG dry as opposed to the Storm at 192Kg dry.
My Storm definitely feels lighter than mu brothers TLS.
As you know I have modded my Storm considerably regarding weight by removing a lot of things and replacing almost every fastener with stainless Allen head bolts.
I now wish I had weighed everything that I removed from the Storm.
When this build is over I will take both bikes to a weigh bridge and see which one is the lightest.
I may have to eat humble pie if the TLS is the lightest.

Yeah, James, be careful. Once you do the clear clutch cover you will probly start doing burnouts all over the place.
I would put so much work into a mod that is so perilously placed if the bike tips. Would be pretty mad.

Guys,
I couldn't help myself with this mod.
I've seen some TLS with it and did it more as a joke on my Bro.
Trouble is I liked it so more than likely will do it to the Storm when I get around to it.
It's one of those because I can things .
Made up some temp end can brackets today and wired up the integrated clear tail light.
At the pointy end now, maybe a week or two and the TL should be back on the road.
Doubtless after I ride it there will be lots to do.
The R1 rear shock will take some sorting for sure.
I have also had the flywheel lightened as well!
Today I found a heap of vac lines that are well past there use by dates so they will be replaced too!
Here is how it stands/ leans now!

Not much will happen tomorrow as it's time to get the Storm out for a run!

A bit of progress with the bros' bike.
Finished polishing part of the frame, finished off the fairings, rubbed through the paint on the front fender!
Painted the stator cover and fitted the seat fairings.
Tidied up the wiring and then went for a ride on the Storm.

Every time I work on someone else's bike I gain experience that I can apply to my fav bike ,
The Storm!
If I compare the two bikes the Storm is by far and away easier to work on.
