PAIR system and selling bike

Quick one here i hope. i removed the PAIR now i might have a buyer for the bike. when you buy/sell a bike from someone do they have to get its emmisions checked or is it a simple bill of sale and hand over the cash? i live in California.

i just dont want this removal to mess with the sale...

In Maryland, you have to get an inspection to register a car, which could have been purchased without one.

Here in NC we have to get out bikes "Safety" inspected once a year. It is just another revnue enhancement for the State. It never gets into the computer system. It is hand written for motorcycles. DMV never collects the data, but they will take your money. I'd leave the way you have it. He(new owner) is gonna do it himself anyway once you clue him into this site.

The latin term caveat emptor applies. How well do you know the person who wants to buy? Can the PAIR mod not be reversed?
Call your local DMV.

Sorry can't be too helpful 'cause Florida's like the wild west- There's no helmet law (at least if you have the 10k or whatever is required head injury coverage, which we all know EVERYONE has) , no insurance (at least if you own or are financing less than a certain amount) no inspections/emissions (bikes or cars!!)

Thumbs up No problems yet

I've bought and sold several bikes in California and haven't had any problem. But there is no smog inspection in this state for motorcycles - yet, anyway.
