Oil/Greese on front rim????

Hey Guys, I just went on a long ride to raise money for Cancer research on my 2000 VTR.

We raised $205,000 by the way.

When I got home ther was like a black grease/oil on the right side of my front rim. looks like a splatter pattern.

Any ideas?

Could be front axle seal. Check to see if its coming from the hub area, behind the rotor. That doesn't mean that the bearing is necessarily bad, could just be the seal.

Or maybe you just picked up something and its nothing to worry about. Clean it and see if it returns.

+1 I had those seals go out on my SV, clean it, inspect for obvious damage, and see if it returns if it does you would be better off just replacing thos bearings... But it was probably thos H-D's in front of you.

Thanks, I ran my finger over the spots and it might have been water from when i washed it, got thrown on my rotors then to my rim.

The spots didn't seem to be greasy but I'll keep an Eye in them. How much should i expect to pay if its the front wheel bearings?
