Normal operating temperature range?

Depending on ambiant air temperature and the type of riding (heavy traffic, freeway, pulling a mountain grade, etc.) what is the normal safe operating temperature range for the SH? On really hot, humid days, (90 degrees +) mine frequently operates around 200 degrees at steady freeway speeds, with the temperature climbing quickly as soon as I encounter stop and go traffic. I also climb a steep mountain grade for about 5 miles in my afternoon commute home, and temps frequently rise into the 215 to 220 degree range. On cooler days (mid eighties) the freeway temps run cooler, around 187 degrees at 70 - 75 mph. Oddly enough, my SH runs about 10 degrees hotter than my previous RC51 did. Coolant levels are good, and the bike starts and runs well. Are the temps I'm experiencing normal?

Thanks, that kinda puts my mind at ease. The temps here locally have been so hot I haven't even ridden the bike for the last couple of days. We've had temps in the mid 90's every day with today's high predicted to be 98. I've only had my '04 for about 3 weeks, and except for a set of CF Devil slip-ons, it's otherwise stock as far as I know. The exhaust tips are dark gray (not black or sooty) so I assume it's not running lean. I've tried different fuel grades from regular (87) to super (92) and can't tell any difference in performance or operating temps.

Obviously this topic has been discussed before, but since I'm relatively new here, it's taken me awhile longer to dig out this information. Other threads: https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...ad.php?t=15605.
