New slip ons

I got a good deal on a set of rc51 two brothers slip ons and was very happy when I recieved them. With a little tlc the right one will look new and the left one will just have minor rash. Anyways after I took the springs off the high mount mid pipes I realized they were being held together by something else too, assume it's exhaust sealant. Any ideas on how to get them apart? Oh and is anyone interested in rc51 mid pipes? I now have a stock set and a tbr high mount set.

Surely with all the exhausts some of you have tried one of you has a suggestion or two for getting these things apart.

There really should be nothing else holding them besides the springs... Most likely it's soot, oxidation and a tight fit holding them... Tap on the pipe with something soft that doesn't leave marks and wiggle it...

If the previous owner did smear gunk in there, the only way are muscle...
