A new one!!!!

Hi everybody!!!!
My name's Riccardo and I'm typing from Italy.
I own an '98 Italian Red (quite obvious ) VTR.

My bike is not stock:
BMC air filter in a modified airbox
Dinojet jet kit
GPR titanium silencers
Withe Power fully adjustable rear shock
CBR 900 '97 front end enhanced with White Power progressive springs and valve kit
Nissin 34/32 mm front calipers (probably from a CBR 600)

I'm working on a spare engine on wich i'm going to install a couple of JE forged pistons.
I'm also tuning cylinder heads, working on combustion chambers and intake & exhaust ducts.

I'm shure that here I'll find lots of information and tips & tricks.
Obviously I'll give everybody my two cents about our fantastic bike!!!!!

I know that my english is not clever, but I hope that we'll be able to understand each other.
Ciao (it's the italian for "bye")

Re: A new one!!!!

Welcome to the board sounds like you like to tinker,(that means work on things in English.) nice upgrade list. Oh and don't worry about the English, your English is a hell of a lot better than my Italian. As a matter of fact your English is better than my English when it's really late at night.

Oh and as you can see some of us are a bit sarcastic so don't take anything you read to heart.

Re: A new one!!!!

I was just going to ask, being from Italy don't you get a lot of flack for riding a 996 instead of a Duc? Just curious.

Re: A new one!!!!

Welcome Riccardo!
I too went to Laguna Seca, but I flew there from Alabama.
I like Rossi but am glad Americans placed 1 and 2.
My guess is Rossi will be back on top of the podium soon enough!

Ride safe!

Re: A new one!!!!

First of all I want to thank everybody for yours wellcomes.
Superhawk22 is right: I like very very much to tinker  , even if it's quite hard to find time to do it!
I don't like so much Ducatis.
First of all because they are good bikes, but they costs too much, not only to buy but, especially, to mantain!!!!!!!
Ducatis are not like Hondas, on wich you only have to put gasoline and change oil every 10.000 Km!!
Another reason why I don't like Ducatis are the Ducati's owners. Most of them think that they are the best bikers in the world, because they ride the best bike of the world. I hate this "state of mind"!!!!!!! Anyway they can't give me so much flack, because to do it, they have to catch my VTR!!!!!!!!!
The only Duc I could buy is the Monster (only "desmodue"). It's quite simple, not so complicated as "desmoquattro", funny to ride and cool.
IMHO, 999 sucks!!!!!!!!! The oldest 916-998 are much more better.
I think that VTR is a very very good bike for street use. It can do harm to a lot of "better" bikes. On the track it has some limits, but it could be a "bad guest"!
About Rossi there's not much one can say: he is the best..... nowadays.
Anyway my favourite rider of ever is Wayne Rainey. I'd like to see Rossi racing against Rainey, Schwantz, Lawson, Spencer, Roberts (senior, obviously). Probably he would win the same, but not so "easily" as he do now.
Ciao

PS. Sarcasm is not a problem for me  . I will hardly understand it in a language that is non mine.
Anyway, if i'll caught any sarcasm, I'll try to reply to enemy's fire!!!!!!!!

I will have to disagree. the 851/888SPO were the hottest ducs ever.

but I do agree with Wayne Rainey being the best.
