New to me 98 SH
I wanted to share with you all my fun and adventure so farin Superhawk ownership. I appreciate all the info posted here. It has been a huge help already.
About 2 weeksago I picked up a 1998 Superhawk for $600 from a kid that needed somecash. He said the “rear end” needed tobe rebuilt. The last registrationsticker was from 2010 so I figured it had sat in his shed for at least 2years. Long story short got it home andfound one bearing in the rear wheel had gone out. After some struggles to get the remainingbearing race removed from the hub I installed a new bearing and it workedwell. Had to go through the carbs to getthe bike to fire. Once I did she soundsgreat. So far I’ve put a new battery init, fixed an exhaust leak, and put a 'new' used rear tire on. Near termplans are to do the OEM to manual CCT and then the R/R replacement. Some previous owner had stripped it down so I’mwithout any fairings. Not much of abother to me – but I think I need the chin fairing to protect the oilfilter. Gauges are also all stripped offso I made a mount for an old iPhone and use a GPS app to log speed andmiles. Loving this bike so far. This is my first sport bike so I’m prettymuch starting from scratch on how to ride it.
Here is a pic of her. Since I took this I’ve added some hand guards from my snowmobile thatprovide my hands some wind protection. Getting a bit cold here in Wyoming.
I'd love to hear your advice and experiences. I've already learned lots from the forum.

Yes I think the plan is to keep it naked. I don't mind it much and the price of complete fairings is about what I paid for the bike.
Where might one find a mini fairing? Any pics? Thanks for the suggestion.

How's this for a fairing?
Found it in a neighbors junk pile. Had to cut on it some to get it to fit. Now if I can find a small black windshield to fit to it. Anyone know what would make good windshield material?
