My V2 Project!

Well my friends the time has come and after 1998 i purchased my Superhawk i have decided ΤΟ renew my relation with it! So after a long discussion with my self and my mechanick i desided to turn it into a version that Honda should have done it herself! To give you a hint I will convert it also into injection with power commander module! ELF Pro-ARM Swingarm and Upsidedown Front Fork!!! Stay tuned!!!

Look forward to seeing progress. I've been thinking about doing the same setup with the VTR I just bought that needs rebuilding. SSS and USD front end.

How are you converting to FI? Are you using the fuel system from a RC-51, Varadero, SV1000, TL1000, or...?

Right on man, Im doing some similar mods so we should share notes. 1st I like your rear wheel better than mine I have the older smaller one -98 with a 01 vfr swinger. Couple of questions. what are you planning to do with the rear header Im sure you know the shock is gonna be smack dab in the way. And what are you doing about the abs caliper? I figure just plug one hole up with a short bolt but if you have some insight on any of this it may be helpful. Thanks...

As far for rear header we are working on that if my current suspension which is Ohlins doesnt fit then i ll use the one from VFR, As far for the rear calliber we are going to make a little loop on the caliber (pics on how you can do it will be posted soon)!!!

Firestorm and bpw, look in the Knowledge Base. There is a "How To" install a VFR swingarm which many of us call a SSSA (Single Sided Swing Arm).

Thanks Crux I have checked that out, I dont recall any mentioning of the ABS caliper line routing but Ill revisit it. I was asking about the exhaust because Im still not sure what Im doing with mine. my original idea didnt pan out and Im looking for input, firestorm I was asking about your header and what you planned on doing there not which shock youre going to use. The "loop" sounds like a interesting idea, Im interested lol.

Wow injection? You must really want injection since that sounds like a boatload of work to get it in. Was the motivation fuel milage?

is it running jet ??
really like this idea but quite expensive and intensive for guys that dont want to replace the heads etc.
also isnt the varadero a smaller diameter throttle body ?? that seemed the reason why most havent done this because of that,
but i hope the power commander wil sort the fueling etc.
ive read on here somewhere that the rc51 was difficult to get fueled right in design and test stages.... your planning to get on dyno ??? i hope so and not just a random map online (speaking from experience with FI on my GSXR)
really interested also !!!
keep us posted

Mate i havent run it yet cause i am now on cosmetics, rear tail custom carbon (no fairings) the only metal would be the fuel tank , after this i will make the exhaust pipes cause i have first to fit the carbon belly pan in which i will place inside the fuel pump! I m going to put something like that (single exhaust)

I'm watching with great interest. Beautiful build so far.
The smaller throttle bodies might make getting the fueling right a lot easier.
Though still a complex conversion, a hell of a lot simpler than swapping in RC TB. Too bad the Varadero wasn't sold in the US. Getting parts from overseas is sketchy at best.

Why would it be sketchy? I'm getting stuff shipped from the US all the time, and remember, for me, that's "overseas" as much as the EU is for you... It's a few more papers to fill out (mostly in e-form) and a few bucks to the stupid gubermint people, but other than that, it's not much more difficult or risky than getting stuff from a salvage yard in my own country... At least if you stick to yards that have an English web presence...

Point taken. Please if you will let me elaborate.
I have had zero issues with out of country retailers that have e-commerce sites set up to take international orders. I have on the other hand had some issues (admittedly few) with e-bay UK sellers. Purchases either took months to arrive or not at all. Maybe "gubermint" is the culprit, I don't know.
Since the OP was suggesting ebay as a possible source for Varadero parts I thought I would offer my limited experience.
Please forgive me if I wasn't as precise as I could have been.
