Michelin Pilot Power....

I've read most of the posts regarding tyres but wanted to know if anyone else was experiencing my problem or if its all in my head. Since putting the Pilot Powers on (front & rear) I've clocked up about 1200 miles and grip levels are beyond my limits - under perfect riding conditions!
In the wet I feel as if I'm running on the rims - I had no option but to cross some railroad tracks the other night (in the wet) and while I didn't expect much grip under these conditions, at a lean angle of about 5 degrees, the back slid what felt like 12 inches but was probably more like 3 or 4.
Also when on sandy or dusty roads the front feels like blancmange. Not really confidence inspiring.
On the up side, when the roads are dry and clean these tyres seem phenominal.
I'm not the most competent rider in the world but rate my skills as average plus.
Just wondered if anyone else experienced the same....

Thanks in advance.

I actually just put one of these on the back the other day, and I took it up onto a pretty crazy mountain road today, and I felt like it did very well on the dirt which at times coursed the road, however, I was taking it pretty easy as I don't know the limits of the tire yet.
