Yesterday the fiancee' mentioned that my next bike should be one that is more confortable for her.

The seat on the superhawk is uncomfortable for her. After about 20 min she starts to complain.

She also doesnt like the fact that she has nothing to hang onto except me.

Anyone have a suggestion?

Do corbin seats for the shawk have a backrest on them? What about the sargent seats that everyone raves about?

I had a 200lb girl (very tall Anna Nicole Smith type build) on the back once for about 40 miles. I didn't tell her but I was terrified of an uncontrolled wheelie. Surprisingly the bike handled much better than I thought it would and was able to give her a pretty fun ride. She didn't bitch and ya, her *** was sore. Musta been a funny sight from behind.

My regular pilon is 112lbs and the only time she ever complained was when I forgot to take the cowl off the back of the seat. She said she thought something was wrong as she felt like she was going to slide off the back of the bike. In fact it was my riding buddy who flagged me over to say "haven't you forgotten something?" I barely notice her on the back other than the bike is slightly slower.

Other than bungee'ing a gel pad to the seat and even then, I doubt it will ever be a "comfortable" ride for her. The padding on the back of a Sargent is about the same as stock. The Corbin will have to be the same because anything thicker is going to interfere with the cowl.

Am I reading that right - $299 for the seat, $249 JUST FOR THE BACKREST?

Yeah, Corbin charges a grip for their stuff.

I had a Corbin Gunfighter & Lady (and backrest) for my F3, and my wife really liked it (compared to the stock seat). The shape of the seat was more comfortable, and the backrest was a nice touch (something to help hold her from falling backwards if her hands slip off me).

Unfortunately, Sargent doesn't have a backrest for their seats.

But they DO have a seat in their Closeout section for cheaper than normal. I believe it's yellow piping, though...

For the life of me I cannot recall the name of the company that makes an air seat in different sizes . One they make is for the small cruiser pillion seats . That might work just to strap on ton of the rear seat section and remove when not carrying a passenger . I think they are call Airhawk .

There's a new USA Distributor for these seats now also .
