loose grip
hey guys, i noticed that my left hand grip comes loose after a wash and takes a few hours or more to dry up. so from some reading ive done ive read that its good to take the grip off and give it some hairspray on the inside and itll dry up and hold the grip on. this has worked on both my quads but made the grip on the bike even more loose and now shes a slippery little thing. what are my options? the grips are in good shape and id rather not replace them. am i safe to put a few layers of tape around the handlebars and then slide the grip over that?

It works to slide a screwdriver (thin one) down the grip for space then spray carb cleaner into it. It will clean off any slippery stuff. It dries quick & will leave the grip sticking to the bar. Worked for me. Stick the screwdriver in at a couple locations to get the cc all the way around.

Remove the grip. Clean the bar and inside of grip(screwdriver, thin rag and cleaner). Apply grip glue to inside of grip. Roll grip in your hand to circulate glue. Re-apply grip to bar. Use safety wire for a professional job. Now use gotta grip that cant's come off.

Safety wire can be found at most bike shops in either a small spool or larger can. Take a piece about 12-15 long and wrap tightly around the end of your grip. Two or three circles will do. Now twist the wire and it will snug up on the grip. Cut off any excess and bury the end in the grip so it doesn't stick your hand or finger when you grip it. If you need a lesson go to your local bike shop and ask them to sell you some and show you how to use it or google it.

had the same problem on my rc, used krazy glue. probably will be hell to get it off but its uses include binding to RUBBER. remember DONT GET IT ON YOUR SKIN IT WILL BOND INSTANTLY. screwed up and used a paper towel to soak up the excess, soaked right through onto my skin.
