Looking for used Rear Cowl

Hello everyone I recently laid my bike down and I broke the clip off the backcowl that holds the taillight on. Once again I am looking for a used rear cowl not a new one. I posted in another forum and all they want to talk about is a new one. If anyone can help please let me know thanks guys.

not a problem Sgt. Rock. the two parts are usually mistaken for eachother. this i have found out since i started looking for this part. and Loco the part you have is it the piece that screws the taillight on and if not what is it that keeps it from being painted and used.

Re: Looking for used Rear Cowl

I could actually use a rear seat, cowl, cover or whatever you want to call it. Anyone have one left?

I was thinking $800 if I could get it. Plus $200 for shipping. I suppose I'll settle for $40 shipped though.

The straps busted while towing my bike today and it fell over cracking the rear cowl. all clips are still there but do you think a body shop could fix the cracked plastic? its about a 3-4 in gash

Better to have somebody that specializes in plastic welding and repair do that for you. Then bring it to a painter. www.empiregp.com does nice work. They do both the repair and painting. The whole set of VTR plastic repaired and custom painted was $650. I have pics here somewhere....yeah, here's one:
