This is an older post and i'm not sure if anyone had additional posts regarding kick stands.
I do have suggestion I have used on my SH.
To all of you guy's that raised the rear shock or if you didn't but you feel the kick stand is not doing the job and the bike is leaning to deep and/or flexing due to the crappy design of the kick stand, you can swap it with just the kick stand arm from a CBR1000RR 04-07 that fits almost perfectly in the original kick stand bracket, you may need to grind the front just to get it to the correct angle when fully open so the bike will not fall forward.
The best part about this fix is that the CBR1000RR kick stand is about one inch longer, it is tubular, lighter and does not flex like the OEM stand, as such the whole bike is more stable on the stand, I got one on Ebay for $19 + $5 shipping, I'm sure you can find more good deals as this.
Good luck

What I find funny is when these bikes came out people complained they didn't lean over far enough onto the stand and could be knocked over easily.
Now folks are complaining they are too short and the bike leans too far....
All that I know is I have a 10mm spacer on mine and have no issues or problems with my side stand what so ever....

NHSH, that great but where were you when I was on my sidewalk with a grinder making my plate!! Just kidding but how are you NH superhawk if you are in mass? Were you born in NH?
Better late than never for the help so thanks. Oh yeah what about the kill switch? Still in use?

smokinjoe73,
Sorry for not being here for you, as you can see I'm fairly new to this forum.
NH actually stands for Nighthawk, you may be able to recognize a Nighthawk in my pictures, not the typical one!
I never lived in NH but a great state to ride in. I was born in Europe and moved here after living in Australia for several years also (another awesome place to ride
and one of the best places to live in!)
As for the switch, I got the one that came with the CBR stand, works exactly the same way, just plug it in!

BTW, once you get it on, bend the kick lever to where you feel most comfi for your feet.
Takes 5 minutes including the grinding
Thanks for inspiration on longer stand, my CBR1000 05 is in place :-)
Just a few points:
- only stand is needed, stand sensor stays in place same
- I replaced only side stick, (holding by screw under the side sensor), not the whole body holding on 2 srews
- bike doesnt fall forward, but I needed to add some material not to hit my Arrow pipes when closed, my solution is not elegant, but working and reliable
- I have 5 mm raised rear.
