Isle of Man Vacation

I have always wanted to go watch the Isle of Man TT and am looking for advice/help. Where is the best place(s) to watch, best day(s) to attend, best place to camp/stay, tickets, etc... Probably tie in 3-4 days in Scotland for a few distillery tours.

Places to stay, well if you want the atmosphere all the time, Douglas on the Promenade, there are lots of hotels of all prices. If you want peace and quiet then stay anywhere else!

Days to go, well the racing is only a week and there are so many places to watch from that you will want to try several, a lot of them you are stuck at once roads close as there is no other access. Example, Glenhelen you are stuck at a pub at the end of a beautiful little valley on a tricky series of bends, you are there from mid morning to late afternoon, assuming no cancellations due to the weather. If you watch from Ramsey or Douglas you can easily get away to another vantage point, there are others where this is possible but not many.

Tickets, get onto it NOW it books up very quickly, we stayed at a very expensive hotel one year, while I was waiting for my key a German guy was booking next years stay! I think the ferry is pricey but I have only gone with a bike, you can fly, there are deals to be had.

Hope this is some help, have a pint at Bushy's for me!

Being stuck at a pub for most of the day doesn't sound so bad...

You'd better hurry and book ferry/transport and accommodation pronto!

Pop over and register at the UK Firestorm forum as we have a couple of Isle of Man residents lurking in our midst or bikers from the mainland heading over who'll be best placed to help you out.
