We'll be going on our 11th anniversary this year in November! Bought her in 2000 for $5k I think but I have a hard time remembering 11 days ago let alone 11 years. '98 had 2500 miles when I bought her close to 30k now and probably just as much money in mods, only bike I've ever kept this long. Still had all of the reflectors on it when i bought it.

Red 1998 version with almost 13k on her. The bike was immaculate in the showroom, definitely well kept.

$3500
I think I overpaid a little but they were able to finance my purchase while my credit union declared the bike's NADA value too low to finance. And, it was a dealer after all. They did change all the fluids at least.

Just picked up a 2003 that's going to need a little cosmetic work yesterday for $1600.
I expect to put about $1000 into her.

Bought a new 1998 in March of 1999.
Paid $9400 cash plus T&L.
Still priced at $11,995 on the tag.
Never buying another bike.
Mine has 20K now.
Best Wishes,

Bought a 2003 with 4500 miles on it for 1K on Friday. Got some pretty good road rash on the left side. Needs a new left fairing, Left Footpeg, Left Exhaust Can, Broken Windscreen, Left Handle Bar, Right Mirror and the Fairing Stays on the left side are bent. Has a leaking Fork seal as well.

It's been sitting for a year with gas in the tank so I'm sure a good carb cleaning is in Order.

I forgot to take pictures before I started tearing it apart. Doh! All in All I think I can out about 1k into it and have a pretty nice bike. I'd like to do some Racetech springs and Gold Valves while I have the Forks apart.

I bought mine in april this year for $2900...99 vtr1000f with 12k miles...had aftermarket graphics/undercowl/grips/windscreen/rider footpegs, fender eliminate, flush mount turn signals front/back, tank bra, two brother's slip ons, jetted, k&n air filter, fender eliminate, flush mount turn signals front/back...no cracks in plastics...pretty mint for 12 years old...couple scratches maybe and sum paint scraped on bottom side of undercowl...very minor flaws...I love the bike...and put sargent seat, ss brakelines, d&d exhaust, l.e.d.'s, rear pegs, brake/clutch levers & bar ends, and undertail/dual tail light conversion, and frame sliders...I get complements about every time I am out on it...I love my superchicken!!! (especially since I have not seen 1 where I am at all, nice to have something unique

Picked up the bike tonight... will post a picture tomorrow, yes it is in showroom condition. The title (clean) says he bought it in Sept. 2006 w/ 13k miles and now it has 14.5k miles. Tags expired mid 2010 so its been sitting in the garage for almost two years. Owner moved, Dad had bike, wanted it out of garage. Needed a battery (gee - no kidding...) and the carbs need cleaning so I'm taking it home to clean the jets. Tried putting 60 miles on it with new gas and Seafoam which helped, but not enough.

I don't think they were idiots, just overly honest. They posted an ad for the bike which said "no battery" (so you can't test ride it), mentioned the need for carb cleaning and indicated weeping coolant (which was coming out of the weep hole from lack of use, no leaking after my initial test ride)... yes, I just bought a battery and brought it for my initial test ride. Anyway, he wanted it out and didn't want to do anything to it the honest ad scared away other buyers. Maybe it'll fall apart in a day, but I don't think it will. I've owned many-many bikes over the years, this one is clean... always wanted a 90-V.... sure sounds cool with those "blue-flame" pipes.

paid 1300$ for mine

Carbon Cans
GSXR750 front
cbr929 fairings
Xenon light
new tires
new chain and sprockets

Drawbacks
it was previously crashed - thats why it is with gixxer front
i got it with OEM brake and clutch MCs, not the radial in the pisctures
got it without the steering damper
the "new" front i little low and the body position is little wired
the cans are not put well and there is space between the can the pipe, so when i close the throttle the bike bangs like WWII

The bike is great, looks great, runs great.......more than i can ever wanted.
(already bought radial MC, braided brake lines and Ferodo SinterGrip pads)

Hey all - new here - but not new to riding. I just picked up a 2000 for $1500. Came with light scratches, K&N, Factory jet kit, Two Brothers Racing High-mounts, Gafler lines w/ EBC pads, seat cowl, original cans and passenger pegs, and a spare front wheel.

I've already gotten the Sharkskinz lower. Most definitely need to get some suspension work done - the stock stuff is pretty weak. Going to need some new tires soon too. I expect I'll do the Q2s, as I've never really been a fan of the Michellins. Probably look at the CCTs and the R/R work pretty quickly too.

I've always wanted one of these. It's my first big twin after riding R6 and R1. I love the honk coming out of turns - this motor is a beast - I love it!

Looks like I paid the least.

I traded a project 1970 Datsun 240z for my 98 with 17xxx mileage. The car was pretty rare and worth more than the bike, but it had unibody damage and needed to be straightened out. I paid $450 for it, didn't put anything into it but some elbow grease, so my hawk was only $450

Bought my '98 in '01 from the dealership I work at for $5,500, had 3500 miles on it, sharkskins lower. I rode it for 3 months as my "demo" bike, we put HMF exhaust and a jet kit on, then I bought it. It was my first twin, had CB's & CBR's before that, hooked on the V ever since that 1st ride...........
