hopefully simple oil question

while changing oil, is there any product you can add in with the new oil to clean out the engine, to break down any buildup or anything like that? thanks

You should always add that stuff to the old oil and then run for a few minutes, then change it.

What build up?

I was in the top end of my engine at 16K and it was as clean as a whistle...maybe it's the M1 15W-50 and KY jelly I run in it

If you can't find seafoam, Berryman's chemtool will also do the job. Wallyworld has it. Same instructions: a few ounces (1/2 can) in the crank, the rest in the tank, run for 5 minutes, then oil change.

+ 1 on Berryman's B12 Chemtool - good stuff, I put it in the gas to keep things clean - never tried it in the oil but probably not a bad idea.

Hey, I take B12 everyday, so I guess if it's good enough for the body, it's good enough for the oil on the bike...LOL

Because it has a very negative effect on viscosity, and that ain't good for our twins.
