Hen's teeth.... and tie-rods
Hen's teeth.... and tie-rods
I decided to take a day off from work today to run a few errands, one of which was finding a Heim-joint (left-hand 6 mm thread) to go with my new Jamie D-built shift lever (after all, if you"re going to do the job, may as well do it right so I want to clean up the shift linkage as well as I can by replacing the crappy stock bits with top-shelf stuff). Anyhow, to make a long story short, finding that one small piece is like chasing down the proverbial hen's teeth. After visiting a bunch of places only to be told they didn't have them/couldn't get them, I finally found a shop that ordered one for me. I tell you, despite living in a fair-sized city (Montreal), it sure isn"t easy to be a private citizen and do some mods.... I ran into the same type of crap when I tried to get an exhaust link pipe bent last year, and when I wanted to get something powder-coated, and again looking for anodizing, same with getting the swingarm brace welded on, then there was the time I wanted to get the inlet on my larger oil-cooler rotated, Jeezus......
