Hello

Hi everybody, my name is Ed. I live in Chula Vista Ca., near San diego. I'm glad to see there is still an active forum for the VTR. Is there any one here from the old Run level zero forum?

I have a '99 VTR which I was involved in an accident with a few months ago. I went down on I 805 after bouncing of the right front quarter paanel of a car that turned into my lane. I didn't break any thing (me) but the left side of the bike got beat up.

I've decided to go naked bike with it, something I have always wanted to do. I was able to ride the bike home, and am currently running around minus the entire fairing. I have the headlight and mirrors attached. It looks funky, but I can ride.

I want to go with a round headlight and small fairing, something like a Ducati Monster. I also want to put a tubular handlebar on it. Yep, a Honda Monster. A version of this bike I wished Honda would have offered.

Has anyone here done anything like this? I will have some parts and body work for sale. I also have the original stock mufflers, which are in great shape.

Sorry to hear about the crash! But it's good to know you made it throuh unscathed.

I believe Superbling has a "superbike bar" modification on his bike (that he's recently trying to sell...if it hasn't sold already). Try doing a search on his threads, and you'll see how he was able to accomplish that mod.

Here are two links (from one of superbling's threads) regarding the bar-mod:

If you're selling the right side (throttle-side) of your fairings, I'm interested in them.

Thanks for the words AND the links M...boy. I was in a local bike shop here in down town San Diego, GP Motorcycles. They had an Aprilia Tuono R sitting there. Nice bike, it has a beautiful anodized 'pro-taper' style bar on it that I just fell in love with. I called them for a price, but they never got back to me.

About that right side fairing, yes, it's for sale. It's in great shape, no damage. It has a 'VTR' decal on it, for what it's worth. You can contact me at edcs996@hotmail.com if you want to talk about it.

Welcome to the forum! There are a bunch of folks on here who have done different versions of streetfighters and naked bikes.

...houses? No! Condos, yes. And then there are these condo conversions(apartments 'converted' into condos), and then sold for a couple hundred thousand, but let's not get me startedon that stuff. Back to bikes!
