I traded a GSX1100 that I had for the Firestorm. Had thought about buying one for a while and after getting one I wish that I had taken the plunge much sooner. Couldn`t believe how much fun it was to ride and set my sights on the SP. In all honesty, in my opinion the SP is more focused whereas the Storm you can ride every day. Both brilliant bikes and a privelage to own one of each.

Cool. So what do you like better about your Storm vs. your SP1, for instances where you would choose to ride the Storm instead of the SP1? Is it slightly more comfortable for you? Does it have a beefier bottom end or more responsive, making it more fun to ride around town? Or is it 2-up riding or luggage capability? How does yours handle and ride, compared to the SP1? Would you recommend getting an SP1 to someone who is dissatisfied with the Storm/Hawk but only if they want .... what?
Thanks for all your welcomes,
Rz-racer-69, in answer to your question, as VTRsurfer said, the riding position on the SP is a bit more extreme. If you want to go out for a for a ***** out session on a bike then the SP is the one to take. It was originally built for one purpose and that was to win races. The handling and power delivery are superb to the extreme but it will bite you if you take your eye of the ball.
The Storm is no slouch but the ride seems to be a little more relaxed. More of an "upright" riding position allows you to use the bike as an everyday "tool". More comfortable around town at slower speeds but still has the ability to put a huge grin on your face when you get into the twisties
A more than capable bike that ticks all the right boxes.
But, the SP is still one of the best looking bikes ever built, in my opinion, a design icon in the same way as the 916, but with the inbuilt reliability of a Honda.
