This was a great day on the hawk
So much fun, I'm going to do it again, next month.
New Hampshire Motor Speedway
I've been on faster bikes but I can't remember another bike near as fun as this one, well, except my KTM950S.
I'm 6'4" tall and the hawk is still a fairly relaxed fit for me. My 100hp pit bike.
I really had a lot of fun with it.
I'm sorting the jetting right now so it should be better for the next track day.
Great site here, it's been a big help in getting the bike sorted. Thanks!

Got my internet back. Been in and out for a couple days up here in Maine.
Yes. First track day ever. It changes everything.
Been riding dirt since I was 14, street since 18 and have had few sport bikes over the years, just never found the time to just go and do a track day. Couple good friends of mine and I have been talking about it for years. WHAT A HOOT!
I'm going back 9/19 for an end of season run.
The only way I would trade my 950 adventure would be for an SM. Now that would be a fun track bike. Love the motor. I considered my KTM for a track day but the 11 inch suspension travel would make it a pig.
Anyway, the hawk is on the stand and getting some love. Longer Galfer brake lines up front. The previous owner had some on it that were far too short. Forks too far into the triple to compensate. I just installed some tapered head bearings and the carbs get rejetted when I get back from a trip in a couple weeks.
The race tech springs and the second hand WP 3 way on the rear made the bike very very compliant and I could forget about managing handling. I just rode the thing as fast as I could.
Always wanted a hawk and I think I'll keep it.
Hey man when were you at Loudon? I have been there for every ccs race for 11 years. I am in garage 12 in the south garages with a bunch of other production twins racers. Stop by if you are there. All my bikes and leathers say smokinjoe on them.
