Gear display indicators?

Gear display indicators?
I would like a gear display indicator. Here we seem to get 2 types of cheap ones. One wires into the speedo and one works of magnet sensors on the gear shift linkage.
Anybody used them and what are your thoughts on them?

Yes saw those but they are older than Ahab.
