Gauge Face Decals

Where can I find a replacement gauge face decal for a 1998 VTR1000F, I can't find one anywhere. All I could find was the whole assembly and all I need is the decal. Hopefully nothing to crazy expensive. Help

Did you look on ebay? I really dont think they are available seperately. It would take a wierd set of things to happen to even only need that part. I have seen aftermarket ones on ebay for other bikes.

Ya I've seen lots on eBay for other Bikes and there are companies that remake them for vintage bikes but nothing newer like mine.

How did you manage to destroy just the face? You are the only guy who has TMK.

We're right in that "not vintage but not popular to bling out" category. You can probably make some... do you want them to look stock or are you looking for street glow status?

Stock is totally fine, but something custom would be cool if I could afford it. Some how moisture got in and it bubbled.

Considering it's made from lexan as stock, that would be very unlikely... It's most likely not an OEM one you have, if it's like that...

8541Hawk will become famous soon enough
Clear "Double Bubble" windscreen parked in the sun strikes again.... Though I haven't seen it in a long time.

Could you paint in some white from the back to make it less noticeable? I know how annoying small but big things like that can be.

I am starting to think thats the only reasonable option. If I repainted over it would the light not come through at night? How does that work? Should I just make sure not to put anything around the numbers?

I was thinking something simple like whiteoout just over the chipped parts. Just for continuity. Not sure how much you could disassemble to maybe find another way.

Get a used cluster from eBay, and swap in the face to keep your current mileage... That's about it for solutions that doesn't cost a fortune, ie getting a new cluster from Honda...

I may have already got rid of it, but I think I have my old cluster... if I do I'll send you over just the face if you want...

So for anyone else with this problem I found a template of the face. All I need to do is touch up the picture then I will post it so all you will need to do is print it off, punch out the holes and spray some adhesive on it. I might spray some gloss finish on it to protect it too.

Good job skeet. Thats some problem solving. If it was me I would print it on gloss photopaper and laminate it with contact paper or even packing tape. But thats just how I roll.

Hey guys, Skeeter is the new owner of my old Hawk, so treat him well!

As for the bubble, I noticed it one afternoon a couple hours after washing, and figured it got moisture inside since I recently replaced the back lights and might have left a gap somewhere. It does have a double bubble, and I noticed it shortly after installing it, oops!

Skeeter, when I replaced them before I did as Tweety recommended. I hope your enjoying the Hawk, I have been having a blast on the DRZ!
