Fun Day At The Track
Fun Day At The Track
A few pics from the day. I used the cheap video keychain to try out some video. I'm having some technical difficulties getting it loaded, but I'll post a link when I get some there.

Oh...it was Carolina Motorsports Park. They had a club weekend. There were only about a dozen bikes there on Saturday, and probably not more than 8 to 10 on the track at any particular time. Pretty much felt like I had the track to myself. it was nice, but at the same time, without someone to try and keep up with, I don't know that I gained much. Still a fun relaxing day at the track.
The last session of the day I did hook up with a guy who was close to my skill level. He passed me part way through the session, so I hopped on it and caught back up with him. Took me a lap or two to find a good safe opening to make a pass without putting either of us at risk. After the session he found me and said he enjoyed the "competition". He said he figured it was me behind him cause it sounded like a helicopter. LOL He had a liter bike and would pull away a bit on straights, but I was outbreaking and catching him on the corners. I waited for a turn were he went in a bit early and I late apexed and came out underneath him. It was the funnest session of the day, for sure.

Here's the video. it's shaky because of the vibes from the motor. I had it mounted on the hole in the fairing where the third eye would be. Next time I'll probably try some cushion under it to see how that reduces the shaking.

Looking good
Hey Old Yeller, looking good there. Some knee down action shots, even got the the cute girl watching you huh!
I fitted my tires on Saturday morning and went for a ride up the Malibu mountains in the afternoon. So far I like these tire's, easy to get them over to the edge, profile seems more rounder than triangular like some dunlops. I hate tires that no matter how much you lean them there are still chicken strips on the front (Dunlop Q2's). Can't wait to try them at the track.
Question? do you have a steering damper fitted to your bike? I don't feel the need for one at the moment but it's on my list. That and a larger rear sprocket +2. So far, I've dropped the front forks 4mm and installed a 4mm rear shim on the shock. Turns in nice and is still super stable.
I feel I have a really nice suspension set-up, bike handles so much better than the last Superhawk I had.
Glad you had a fun day at the track.

yes I have a steering damper. at my speeds it was not much of an issue, but I noticed it specifically at Road Atlanta when coming up over the hill on turn 5. when the front end gets light, it wobbles a bit.
