fuel mileage

I don't know why everyone complains about the mileage on the VTR.

during the week, I can only get 100 miles until the light comes on(and maybe 125 if I go to the end of the tank), but highway cruising at 110km/h(67mph) got me about 42mpg. Which means my light came on at 131miles, I filled up at 136 miles, and still had a full gallon left after. I calcuate that I can get about 175 miles to the tank on the highway.

Agreed. I think it depends on rpms. I get slightly better but I broke mine in carefully. I doubt most people are as patient.

Heh-heh-heh, I see this quote a lot but it's always a calculation. It's "inconceiveeeeable" to ride a 'hawk for 200 miles at 67mph! I had a perfect opportunity to do it last sunday with a mostly interstate 200 mile return leg but the speeds kept creeping up and we ended up cruising about 85mph. Running 67mph on a highway in Texas would turn you into a hood ornament! :P
