Could you give a little more detail on the problem? or maybe a pic?
Is the flat spot only in one place or is it around the entire tire?

Then the tire is worn out.......
If it's flat in the center, well that's common on a bike that is mostly ridden around town and never really leaned over.

It's why they make dual compound tires. If it is really noticeable, as 8541 said, the tire is worn out. Might want to replace with a pilot road 2 or similar

John, Look into buying a touring tire -Pilot Road/michelin or M6/Metzeler or Roadsmart/ Dunlop.
If you are or if you just barely use your bike as a leaning machine- Then save your money. Buying sportbike (soft compound) tires- seems to be a waste of tire for you..
The tires mentioned above have been used on the curve, here in western n.carolina. With No problems..

Rubber = soft / Pavement = hard

If you ride mostly in a straight line, you're going to wear off the soft stuff in the center of the tread, no matter what tire you use.

True but touring tires are way better wearing. Unless you are going to the track or only ride on short sporty rides, touring tires are smarter. I am a racer but save racing for the track. I ride bridgestone sport touring and have yet to see a street squid keep up, gummy tires or not, even on "faster" bikes. You can wear Jordan's shoes but can you play like him?
