first day with my bike lots of questions.. PLEASE HELP

Ok so i have lots and lots of questions.. I just bought my bike today it is an 01 vtr 1000f... This is my first bike ever so go with me here ok.. I left it in the yard prob shouldn't have with it previously raining but it fell over... Now i have a cracked left front fairing and a crack under the head light.. My question is does the front fairing come off in 2 pieces or is it one big piece...

depend how you want to take it off I find it easier to take the whole front off by unscrewing the side bolt un plug the head light and remove the mirror and your done it should come right out

It only comes off as one piece... it's a beautiful design.

Unplug the turn signals along with the other steps described or you might crack some more parts

Don't forget the 2 little pain in the *** push clips down on the lower part of the fairing on the inside. Do the stuff described above then cover the front fender with a towel, spread a blanket on the floor or bench to set it on after it's off, face the bike near the headlight, grab it on both sides near the radiators, spread the fairing outward and pull it forward.

Downloading the service manual would help. https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...ad.php?t=11365

Hell of a first bike. Be careful with your right wrist.

yeah those plastic push pin things are a **** design. Everything else about the fairing is great though. It's pretty easy to take off. Especially when compared to my 04 R1. What a PITA that thing is to get naked...

And just use common sense when riding this thing. Take it easy. SH was my first bike too. That was 5 years ago. I have no intention of ever selling it. One of the best things I've ever bought.
