exhaust pipe coatings?

Has anyone ever had the their pipes coated with a high temp coating of any kind? I was thinking of having the head pipes done up to the cans since they discolor real quick. The Jet Hot coating on my truck headers looks nice and stays that way.

Not to sound sarcastic or condescending but I recall a fair amount of discussion on this, try a search on "jet hot" or "header coating"

I did some searching for exhaust coating before I posted this but didn't come up with much... I could have been using the search incorrectly. I will try some of the terms you mentioned

Re: exhaust pipe coatings?

Jet hot said it's $140 to coat the inside & outside of all the pipes up to the cans.
(JetHot 1300 Sterling coating....the silver one)

Add about $27 for FedEx ground return shipping.
Don't forget your shipping cost to get it to them....another $27 or so ?
They have a place in both Arizoina and Mississippi.

They claim it lowers the outside pipe temperature 40%

WOW 40% is ALOT.

I worry about the heat from the rear pipe affecting the rear shock.

BTW
Jet Hot phone # is 1-800-432-3379

Re: exhaust pipe coatings?

If it did, wouldn't Honda have put a heat shield in front of it?
