I bought these pipes from another forum member right after I got my SH. I love them. I have a problem with the pipes though.....did you notice?

The red and white on the Texas flag is UPSIDE DOWN!!!!!! I asked D&D about it. Apparently they made, AND sold, a whole bunch of these screwed up cans 6 or 7 years ago.

I really cannot stand the thought of flying upside down Texas flags. D&D is willing to send me two new emblems.

My ? to you guys is: How can I get the rivets out without having them rattling around in there? Am I going to have to tear my whole can apart to fix this injustice?

Hell if you are going thru all the trouble to fix a minor thing like that just go ahead and repack them while you are fixing the emblem.

A minor thing to fix, yes. One I feel obligated to take care of out of respect for the citizens of Texas. Call me crazy.

That being said. Since the pipes are 6+ years old, maybe re-packing would be a good thing. I'm ignorant. Does it affect anything but noise level? Backpressure? Any hints on where to get the materials to do that?

Thanks much!

I was born there. And lemme tell you its taken YEARS literally like 8-12 to Flush the overwhelming sense of pride from my being (actually its slowlly stipped from you until you become a shell of your former self) a Texan. I must say that would really tork alot of people from down there good call on righting the injustice that has befallen your Ex cans....Seriously im a little over the top but if it was me i would replace them the one looks scrached anyways

I knew I wasn't the only one that actually cared about things like this.

I found out D&D has a repack kit as well. So I am getting the repack kits, and new emblems. D&D is throwing in the emblems. So the aluminum shell will be a little scuffed up, but all else will be new. Do you think I could paint them black? What kind of prep/paint for the aluminum?

If they really are aluminum they won't take paint at all because of the heat and the fact aluminum resist most paint. Best option would be annodizing. IMO
