ok how do i decipher the engine numbers? VIN i can find, not engine.

sc36e-I know this denotes VTR 1000
this is the second set of numbers

googling always points me to the vin number but that is the age of the bike not the engine

 

It's a production code. I believe that the first 2 digits will correspond to the year of fabrication. In your case, you should have a 2001 motorcycle.

Thanks heaps there's not a lot of info about for this looks like i was sold a 2004 model with a 2001 engine
