What do you mean by randomly dies.

If the bike is not bone stock engine, carbs, exhaust wise you are barking up the wrong tree.

Quitting!!

Hey I hear your pain on this...
I know when you are frustrated with something like this, advice that's not helpful or already been tried can knot your shorts..so bear with me. The randomness of this makes me think electrical..Bad ground, bad contact. Moisture and the ensuing corrosion can cause silly things to happen. Once found an issue in a V/65 Sabre for a friend like this. A thought...Pop the open all the electrical connectors you can find.(spray them with cleaner or WD 40 and then treat them with Dielectric Grease).especially the ones around the Ignition Control Module....switches...Even swap out the main fuse..had them malfunction even when they looked okay...After that..new ignition system..I have had good experiences with the Honda Canada...talking with service people and the like...Mind boggling to think they are brushing you off...Dealer needs to be an advocate for you in this............Get an e-mail for the offending party in this and we can all send them the challenge to do the right thing....

Does this happen just whenever, or when coasting to a stop with the clutch in?

Good statement HawkRider, i think most of the SuperHawks i have ridden will die every time you pull the clutch in if say running 40 - 60 MPH, just a characteristic.

Need more information on your problem!

Is you idle set correctly? If set just a tad to low they SuperChicken will die when you stop for a Red light.

Reading through your previous post:

I wanted to ask about the rectifier.
Did you ever try replacing it?
Sure sounds like that might be the culprit.

the last two dealers that hve had this in their shop said it was good. Not to go against these two dealers...I happen to have good friends working at bolth...but to be frank i have never heard of one of these things until my problem with this bike...They have checked and replaced the kill switch and side stand switch and thourghly gone threw the main wire harness and fuse relays with the setup of volt meters to watch for any irregularity in the pulse coil and ignition coil...with no success. its like this thing is playing hard to get...BUT on the good side All American Honda in Santa Cruz Ca was able to verify the loss of power when it left me stranded on Santa Cruz...but it refused to die...thankfully that was part of the origonal complaint. :-|

Disregard my question. I went and reread your original post - in motion and at a stop, seems to be completely random.

you said it would take 2hrs to get it restarted. this souonds like a coil problem. untill it cools down it wouldn't make contact. if teh coils haven't been replaced its worth a try.

There have been similar issues relating to proper diagnosis of a bad R/R.
