Deal's Gap rally followup
It was a nice time. I sure wish more guys could have made it.
Funny thing, I have been there so many times and have seen maybe 2 SHs (other than mine) on a given weekend.
This weekend, I think we counted 5 different SHs there that had no idea about the SHOG rally.
Here's a pic. I have more and will send them to Greg so he can post 'em or host 'em, or do whatever.
FWIW, the dam in the background is Fontana Dam. Highest dam east of the Rockie Mountins.

I was great riding with you guys and I can't wait to do it again. Brian A--Let me know when you head back up this way and I'll try and schedule some time off. Just give me a week or two advance notice.
Kickin- I hope you kept your pants on yesterday

Ugly? Not really. Just a side effect of compressing the digital pic.
And yes, I chose a pic without the R1 in it.
The compressed pic looks like poop. The original, while not of professional quality, is a wee bit nicer.
OBTW, here's what two days at Deal's Gap will do to your rear tire:

Not exactly on topic, but the fact of you pointing out the other 'Hawk owners not knowing about the rally reminded me of an event that happened today. A few friends of mine were running out and about today, and stopped at a small mom n pop store on 250. There was another small group of bikes already there, with a '98 red 'Hawk as one of their pack. I talked to the guy for awhile, and thought it might have been one of you guys on here - turns out he's never been to the site. Hopefully he'll pop up here in a few days or so!

Wish I had got to hangout with you guys and gals some more. I really didn't even get to ride as much as I wanted while I was up there. Hopefully next year will be different.
Hell I didn't even get any pictures of everyone when we were hanging out in front of my room at the store.

Nah, David is a pretty skilled rider. He just needs to polish his skills and hit the track. I didn't get the opportunity to ride behind him to evaluate his lines and style....not that I'm a professional or anything but I am an MSF instructor and NESBA Advanced rider.
I've voiced my opinion on street riding here many times and I just can't ride on the street like I do at the track. Something inside me prevents it. That's good, I think. Self preservation is what I call it. Boring or slow to some, smart and responsible to others. Either way, no points or trophies on the street ya know.

Here's the first video. This is the group riding down 28 to the Fontana Dam for pics.

...well, I'm working on getting that one to work. Meanwhile, here's another one of a run on Tuesday. Camera is on Steve's bike. I'm in front.

[update] Seems I've run out of room on the ftp. I've got an email out to the forum owner to up the size for me. I'll post 'em up as soon as I have more storage space.
