Question Carbon fiber exhausts?

I'm trying to replace my Yoshi exhaust system, and I'm thinking really hard about Carbon Jardines.........

Anybody out there have experience with them (or other carbon systems) on the SHawk?

I'm TOTALLY torn between the carbon Jardines, and the black ones.

Someone help me decide (other than the $100 difference).

Not sure how much truth there is to this but some claim that the powerful exhaust pulses from big twins are harmful to the carbon fibre and cause it to decay over time.

I just recieved Carbon Fiber RT1 high mount pipes. I haven't even had time to install them. I will take a picture of them this weekend installed. They look amazing just sitting inthe box and I got them for a great deal IMO. $560 shipped. The craftsmanship seems top notch as well.

carbon fiber should hold the heat in better, this is nice if you ever have a passenger, less risk of burning themselves on the cans. the carbon fiber ones may even save you some weight over the black ones. i would say give em a try an let us know how they work out.

My old Ducati 996 had carbon cans and I never had any issues with them for the 20K miles that were on the clock when I sold it. Just my .02.

I LOVE CF cans on any bike. They soften the harshness of the exhaust. Don't confuse this as necessarily meaning they're quieter than other as I'm talking sound quality not quantity.

I had one set of really old D&D's that were pretty loud and eventually got fragile at the rivets on the ends. I noticed my new set of Leo Vince CF pipes for my vfr are double wrapped on the ends (nice touch).

Never to pass up an opportunity to show them off, here's a vid of them on their second start up when new. They have the Euro-spec removeable baffle in them that keeps 'em pretty quite (what I wanted): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ldjrL7kbm8
